Although men have been using makeup for a very long time, the industry has always been dominated by women. However, in 2020 and the rise of social media, the gender-bending beauty gurus have become a norm. But everything comes at a price. The online trolls and real-life bullies don’t necessarily embrace the liberated way of people expressing themselves. I have made a series of portraits showing not only guys wearing makeup, but also what it takes to go against the unwritten rules of society in order to make way for the next generation.
